ABOUT ME

Herman Gritz
Tutor
A simple truth I’ve known my whole life: music holds the great power to bring magic and light into people’s lives and guide us through the ups and downs. With 8+ years of experience writing, producing, mixing, and playing alongside many talented musicians, I’m passionate about guiding my students through the journey of learning music production and help them develop their musical ideas from initial inspiration to finished production and performance.
Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, I’ve been based in Berlin since 2019, where I continue to work as a producer, mixing engineer, and a live musician. Over the course of my career, I have worked with a variety of clients on their musical projects spanning genres like Pop, Rock, EDM and Synth-Pop, as well creating jingles and original music for TV programms, visual and VR installations and NFT projects. As a touring musician I’ve performed 50+ live shows at venues and festivals as a bassist, guitarist and synth player for bands such as Marakesh, The Elephants, Atomic Sahara, Mirrors For Princes across multiple European countries, including Ukraine, Germany, Finland, and Estonia.
Holding a BA in Music Production, I decided to dedicate my time to helping aspiring musicians develop the essential skills needed to create their own music. I teach a wide range of skills related to music production and using Ableton Live, with each lesson tailored to the student’s specific musical interests and background knowledge. Some students are more interested in producing electronic music, others in mixing audio or recording a live band. I adapt the lessons to what each person wants to learn, and we usually jump into hands-on work as fast as possible.
